Conditions of Work:
Work pattern as per Azerbaijan law of 40 hours per week, as business requires
Purpose:
• To provide the direction and motivation to execute the sales strategy for the hotel in order to achieve and exceed budgeted revenues, in all aspects of the hotel.
Main Duties:
• Conducts continuous research on potential accounts in the corporate, leisure and MICE markets.
• Achieves established annual sales quotas and targets.
• Sets standards; supervises and reviews staff performances..
• Handles all daily matters relating to sales operations.
• Recruits, hires and trains sales staff.
• Sets standards, supervises, evaluates and reviews staff performances.
• Chairs daily sales and briefings
• Establishes, maintains and reviews the departmental operations and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manuals.
• Attends overseas trade shows and sales trip to promote Strategic Business Unit (SBU) sales.
• Recommends necessary sales action plans or procedure reviews to maintain and increase market shares.
• Coordinates with the Revenue Management team to maximize income potential
• Cultivates niche markets to maximize high end client potential
• Meets with operating department heads to discuss standards of service and quality to meet guest expectations.
• Identifies sales training needs and conducts necessary training for sales staff.
• Continually evaluates markets and their needs, comparing them with existing products and services.
• Assists in creating development programs for rooms and food & beverage sales.
• Maintains very close liaison with Front Office, Food & Beverage and Credit/Finance departments.
• Assign sales personnel to contact potential business and leads.
• Performs extra duties as designed by the management.
• Checks reservations in the system with the aim of maximizing yield.
• Ensure that the decision making at all levels is based on full and accurate sales and marketing information.
• Establishes specific targets for acquisition, retention and development.
• To draw up and implement marketing/business plans for SBU.
• Establishes budgets for marketing and manage them efficiently.
• Ensures that all activities adhere to and support the Jumeirah Quality Management System.
• Participates in Executive Committee meetings and any decision-making activities required within this group.

Role Specifications

Qualifications
• Degree in hotel Management
• Advanced certification in Sales or Marketing
• Understanding of revenue management
Experience
• Minimum seven years of progressive sales management experience in 5 star luxury hotel segment or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of senior leadership / executive role leading a sales and marketing team
• Knowledge of local and regional markets is preferred
• Proficiency in English is a must and knowledge of Russian can be an advantage
