Main Role and Purpose:
• Maintain the effectiveness and continued development of Azfen JV Project Security management system and provide required direction and support to its application at Project worksites
Accountabilities
• Maintain the Project Security Plan.
• Assist and advise the Project Manager and Heads of Departments in all issues relating to security of personnel and other facilities.
• Monitor compliance with the Project Security Plan and relevant Security procedures, arrange regular audits/inspections and prepare detailed reports of site security performance.
• Establish a working relationship with Client Security representative, and enlist services and facilities when required.
• Establish a working relationship with Subcontractor Security personnel and where appropriate consult with them on aspects of security.
• Ensure an adequate interface with Client, Subcontractor and where interfaces exist with local and national security organisations, or community, ensure compliance with all local legislation and Project requirements.
• Where appropriate identify, in conjunction with the Training Department, any necessary HSSE Trainings for security personnel and ensure attendance.
• Examine Security trends and propose actions to prevent recurrence of security incidents and near misses.
• Liase with Client and Subcontractor counterparts and attend meetings as required.
• Establish and participate in regular HSSE meetings with Project Management and other interested parties with respect to project security arrangements.
• Organise the evaluation of potential security threats, conduct security risk assessments, and assist in the preparation and implementation of new security policies and procedures.
• Highlight security issues, make recommendations and/or issue instructions (based on reports, audits and incident analysis) that will be implemented in order to enhance security performance.
• Ensure the maintenance of the Site Security Induction scheme
• Ensure physical security, crime prevention, and protection of Project personnel, assets, staff with the security work force,
• Ensure implementing and monitor communications network, continued threat statement, investigative support, and maintenance and implementation of contingency plans relevant to the Project;
• Monitor procedures for the protection of personnel, offices and other facilities,
• Monitor the project identification and access control system, communications, and personnel tracking.
Competencies required:
• Has a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in managing security in the oil and gas construction industry;
• Is competent in managing a team of security professionals; and
• Has the necessary competency knowledge of security principles and practices to be able to identify potential risks and take the appropriate corrective action.
