Telecom System Engineer

Responsibilities

• Providing operational technical support at POP and Data Centre locations
• Management of telecommunication infrastructure including core switches, server farm network switches, load balancers.
• Maintain and remediate WAN links and network infrastructure including routers, switches, load balancers etc.
•     Event management - Interpret alerts received via monitoring tools, troubleshoot and take necessary remedial actions
•     Incident Management - Resolve incidents; escalate to other IT teams and vendors. Co-ordinate incidents to resolution.
•     Problem Management - Identify problems proactively and provide inputs to Problem Management for problem resolution.
•     Reporting - Generate various technical and management reports using reporting capabilities of monitoring tools.
•     Be an escalation point for NOC engineering team
•     Works with ISP, Cisco TAC, Checkpoint Support  staff as appropriate to isolate, escalate, and resolve LAN/WAN and DC issues.
•     Technician coordinates between customers, internal staff, equipment vendors, and service provider contacts to resolve technical problems within a given environment.

Skills

o Technical/IT University background
o At least 2-3 years of network support
o CCNA / CCNP- or equivalent certified, additional certifications is a plus
o In depth knowledge in overall network architecture in an enterprise environment
o Hands-on experience implementing, administrating and troubleshooting network devices
o In depth knowledge of TCP/IP
o Expert experience with Cisco routers and switches (ISR 2900/3900, ASR1000, Catalyst 3750 and 6500, Nexus 5000/2000)
o Experience with Cisco ASA platforms
o Experience with Checkpoint firewalls
o Strong knowledge of routing protocols: BGP and OSPF
o Strong knowledge of VSS and vPC technologies
o Strong knowledge of LAN related technologies: STP, VLANs, HSRP, VTP etc.
o Excellent troubleshooting skills
o In-depth WAN troubleshooting knowledge
o Experience working independently with service providers
o Working technical knowledge of HTTP/S, DNS, POP, SMTP, FTP, SNMP, Tacacs+ etc.
o Must have user-level experience with Linux systems
o Must be a team player and work well with co-workers of different backgrounds
o Fluent in Azerbaijani and English. Knowledge of Russian is an advantage
o ITIL Certified
