BP's Upstream segment focuses on finding reserves of oil and gas, developing the means to extract and process it and then consistently producing and transporting it to market. This involves using cutting edge technology to find the energy reserves, the ability to drill thousands of meters under the ground, designing, building and operating some of the world's largest most complex production onshore / offshore facilities and finally being able to transport these fluids, in order to provide energy to the world.

Whether it be using the latest subsea technology to access oil from the deepest oceans, building some of the worlds biggest production facilities or designing pipelines that cross several countries, we have some of the largest projects and most complex engineering challenges in the world.
Role synopsis
As a Production Supervisor you will be working within the operations team in the project and report to the Operations Team Leader. This is a key leadership role that will involve building a competent team in line with the Shah Deniz 2 recruitment plan and supporting the Nationalisation and development strategy.
Key accountabilities
The Shah Deniz 2 project is committed to nationalisation and a robust National Technician training and coaching programme is a key project deliverable. To support this initiative the successful applicant will be required to:
-Provide mentoring and coaching assistance to develop national technicians
- Provide assurance on the competency of the offshore technicians
- Work closely with technician development support groups in Azerbaijan
• Provide Operations input to Project Design (e.g. HAZOP, LOPA, risk reviews)
• Provide input to the development of operating procedures and site practices
• Have a thorough knowledge of Safe Systems of Work, especially relating to Control of Work including the ability to act as Area Authority.
Essential Education
• University Degree
Essential experience and job requirements
• At least ten years of relevant working experience
• Proven coaching skills with a track record of developing Technicians
• Demonstrated skills to train, coach and develop technicians
• In depth experience of offshore production systems and platform operations
• Demonstrated influencing and communicating skills
• Demonstrated ability to define and prioritise issues
• Understanding of the Risk Assessment process

Desirable criteria & qualifications
• Experience with subsea systems and topsides interfaces including instrumentation requirements, control systems and chemical injection
• Minimum of 5 years experience in projects encompassing construction, commissioning and start-up
• Minimum of 5 years experience working in offshore gas operations "LI-WRAP" "LI-PRIORITY"
