Scope

Responsible for planning, directing controlling, participating in the activities of the whole Department and coordinating with other Department, ensuring the efficient and economical processing of all guests and in-house/outside laundry or dry cleaning requirements.

Duties
  
• Directs, coordinates and participates in all laundry activities and overall operational control. Engaged in such activities as washing, dry cleaning, pressing, spotting, collecting, delivering and checking guests and hotel laundry and dry cleaning ensuring its fullest standard.
• Plans and schedules the day-to-day work activities of Laundry operation, ensuring that all hotel and guests requirements are met, taking into consideration the occupancy and business forecast of the hotel as well as all the equipment preventive maintenance measures.
• Coordinates with Housekeeping, Food and Beverage and other Departments to ensure the adequate supply/requirements for linen and uniforms cleaning as well as the outside laundry services if necessary.
• Ensures the cleanliness of the whole Department and the maintenance of all the laundry and dry cleaning equipment and machinery, follow up the needed repairs with Maintenance Department as required.
• Approves requisitions, maintenance orders, vacation/sick leaves; accomplishes monthly production report and other inter-departmental reports.
• Attends to guest’s complaints, requests and inquiries.
• Examines, when necessary, clothes and other guest items to determine how they should be processed; gives appropriate instructions to personnel concerned.
• Trains personnel on respective tasks according to the established procedures, conducts the necessary on-the-job training, meetings to discuss problems and future plans, gives information and assignments to each staff.
• Inspects daily guest laundry Supervisor’s checklist to ensure that all guest & outside customers’ items have been properly processed as per the established standard and delivered on time.
• Inspects daily the processing quality of laundry and dry cleaning  and ensure that proper formulation and procedures are observed and followed.
• Compares the actual performance with the budget periodically and takes necessary corrective action if required.
• Maximize employee productivity and morale within the department and consistently maintain discipline within hotel guidelines and local regulations.
• Schedule employees in line with varying business levels in order to maximize productivity and minimize payroll costs.
• To select and recruit suitable employees for the department using prescribed set of policies and procedures.
• Have a full working knowledge and ability to supervise, train, correct and demonstrate all duties and tasks, in assigned place of work, accordingly to the standards as set.
• Train employees ensuring that they have the necessary skills to perform their duties with the maximum levels of productivity and efficiency.
• Conduct annual performance evaluations.
• To understand and strictly adhere to the Rules & Regulations established in regards to the hotel policy on Fire, Hygiene, and Health & Safety.
• To ensure that all potential and real hazards are reported and rectified immediately.
• To have complete understanding of the Hotel’s Employee Handbook and adhere to the regulations contained within.
• Performs any other duties as assigned to him/her by management.

JOB PROFILE:

• EDUCATION : High School Graduate, Hotel Diploma/Degree
  
1. EXPERIENCE : 5-7 years experience as a Laundry Manager in a similar size 5 start property.
