Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Compliance: Ensure the timely and accurate submission of all required tax returns, including income tax, value-added tax (VAT), and other applicable taxes.
  • Tax Planning: Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies tailored to the local and international market to optimize the company's tax position, taking advantage of available incentives and deductions.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis specific to Azerbaijan to identify opportunities for tax savings and minimize risk through a thorough understanding of Azerbaijani tax laws and regulations.
  • Tax Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, tax provision calculations, and other tax-related reports compliant with local requirements.
  • Audits and Inspections: Act as the point of contact for tax authorities, manage tax audits, and ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to the tax department in your team, ensuring their professional development and maintaining high-quality tax compliance.
  • Policy Development: Stay current with Azerbaijani tax legislation changes and develop and implement internal tax policies specific to the local market to ensure compliance and adherence to best practices.
  • Tax Strategy: Work with Group Tax Head to formulate tax strategies aligned with business objectives and financial goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Azerbaijani or international tax certification preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in tax accounting and compliance, preferably with experience in the Azerbaijani market.
  • Strong knowledge of Azerbaijani tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail, specifically tailored to Azerbaijani tax requirements.
  • Proficiency in Azerbaijani and English (both written and spoken) is required. Russian is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills within the business context.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to local business customs.
