Data Modeller Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and manage advanced reporting, analytics, dashboards, and other BI solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with both technical teams and business stakeholders to understand data needs.
  • Convert business requirements into data models that are easy to understand and used by different disciplines across the company.
  • Review and interpret ongoing business report requirements.
  • Design, create, and optimize data models to meet business needs, including Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Models.
  • Develop best practices for data modeling and data architecture.
  • Implement data strategies and develop physical data models.
  • Update existing data models and create new ones as needed.
  • Analyze data sources for quality and usability.
  • Document structures and types of business data.
  • Liaise with the development team to implement data strategies, build data flows, and develop conceptual data models.
  • Ensure all data models align with company standards and business objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Data Modeller, Data Architect, Database Designer, or a similar role.
  • Familiarity with any data modeling tools (e.g., ER/Studio, Sparx, SQL Developer Data Modeler).
  • Proficiency in SQL and knowledge of at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, R).
  • Strong understanding of database structure principles.
  • Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements.
  • Expertise in data warehousing and business intelligence platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
