Role synopsis
BP Azerbaijan Georgia Turkey (AGT) Region operations in Azerbaijan cover oil and gas / condensate production from 6 offshore platforms by processing it in onshore Terminal and exporting the hydrocarbon resources to the world market using export pipelines going through Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey.
BP AGT Region operates in a transitional regulatory environment and faces the challenge of ensuring that it fulfills the HSE requirements contained in its Production Sharing Agreements (PSA), Host Government & Inter Government Agreements (HGA/IGA), Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) and subsequent communications with the Government and NGOs, while at the same time maintaining an ability to respond to changes in HSE legislation and regulation.
This role’s responsibility will be to support Sangachal terminal in maintaining HSE Compliance Management System, a comprehensive understanding of its HSE compliance requirements and supporting the ongoing process of translating HSE compliance requirements into specific actions and promote its implementation by relevant parties.
Key accountabilities
The specific roles and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
• Participate in compliance task verification (reviewing compliance task language, linking it to the requirement citation, identifying responsible/accountable parties, identifying operational controls)
• Review and conduct quality assurance of: a) verified tasks before upload to Compliance Task Manager (CTM); b) closed out actions in CTM
• Contribute to dashboard preparation process reflecting HSE compliance performance related subjects
• Develop compliance audit check lists and participate in AGT Region internal audits as well as contractor HSE legal and regulatory compliance assurance audits / processes, including writing audit reports upon completion of audits
• Contribute to Compliance Risk identification, assessment and management processes at Sangachal terminal
• Participate in reviewing of compliance procedures and roll out
• Liaise with operations and promote/support implementation of compliance tasks, contribute to compliance culture development in AGT Region
Essential Education
• Bachelor Degree in Health Safety Environment related areas (environment, chemistry, biology), or HSE / Environmental legislation
Essential experience and job requirements
• At least for 2 years of industry experience in HSE compliance/ work with HSE regulations
• To be familiar with Industry HSE requirements and comprehensive understanding of national, regional and international legal requirements relating to HSE
• Thorough knowledge and experience implementing BP HSE Policies, Standards, Practices and Guidelines.
• Understanding of oil & gas industry operations

Desirable criteria & qualifications
• IEMA or NEBOSH Certificates/Diploma
