Job Title:Petro-technical Coach (Surface Engineering) – BP Azerbaijan:

BP has launched a new, one-year program called Petro-technical Resource Entry Program (PREP). PREP is a new learning and development program for national petro-technical graduates joining BP, and will provide technical knowledge and practical application skills that are required to be successful in BP. The Programme is implemented by TTE-Petrofac Ltd ([email protected]  / www.tte.co.uk / www.petrofac.com). TTE-Petrofac will hire successful candidates who will work for the PREP Programme of BP.


The trainees will undertake training courses from the Institute of Petroleum Engineering (IPE) and from the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences (EPS) of Heriot-Watt University.

1. Job Description:

Petro-technical Coach responsible for supervising the Surface Engineering trainees will require the expertise to support the following subjects:
• Thermodynamics
• Production Processing
Pipeline Engineering

2. Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Coordinators in Heriot-Watt University the successful applicant will have the following responsibilities:
• Provide technical support to the PREP trainees whilst undertaking self-study on the courses delivered during Module 3 of the PREP programme. 
• Set milestones and supervise the progress of the Trainees in the integrated case studies
• Provide technical support to the PREP trainees in the area of expertise (Surface Engineering) during the integrated case study.
• Assist the trainees in the production of the project report
• Assist the trainees in preparation of the group presentation.

3. Conditions:
Duration of Post:  fixed term for 6 months from Jan. to July 2013 with possible extension
Working Hours:  Part-time
Start Date:  Jan. 2013

• Postgraduate (PG) Degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline; 
• Experience of working in Higher Education
