Role synopsis 

Reporting to Accounting Services Manager, Group Accounts Team Lead has overall responsibility for the delivery of period end BP reporting and Due Diligence process and associated analytical reviews. The post holder will also have accountability for AGTR Balance Sheet Integrity process, financial system (SAP) integrity as well as delivery of annual Azerbaijan and UK Profit Tax Return (PTR) analysis.
The role offers an excellent opportunity to develop deep understanding of BP reporting processes and Group Reporting Manual (GRM) and provides regular exposure to senior Finance management (CFO, HoFs, Head of Control as well as Segment Control Team)

Key accountabilities 

Key accountabilities includes but not limited to:
∙ Manage, coach and develop team members
∙ Operate robust Due Diligence and quarterly close processes and ensure Region Financial Results are free from material error and prepared in accordance with BP Accounting Policy (GRM - Group Reporting Manual). This includes leading all analytical reviews to support management as well as E&Y audits.
∙ Accounting policy application in accordance with BP GRM requirements
∙ Operate robust and effective quarterly Balance Sheet Integrity (BSI) process
∙ Deliver all Azeri PTR analysis and UK Tax packs (and associated audits)
∙ Maintain compliance with all Finance standards and practices. This includes GRM, Due Diligence process, Quarterly Analytical review of results, BSI, EUC and CETs (Control Evaluation Templates)
∙ Maintenance of SAP financial application and ensure system integrity as per ASR (Application Security Review) CET.
∙ Effectively manage and support related audits (E&Y, Group Internal Audit, Control Assurance Review)
∙ Co-ordinate compliance review for ACG financing agreement
∙ Drive continuous improvement in all processes within the area of responsibility

Essential Education 

∙ University degree in Finance with internationally recognized Accounting qualification.

Essential experience and job requirements

∙ 10+ years rounded Finance experience with skilful Accounting, Reporting and Control competencies.
∙ Managerial experience is a must

Other essential skills and knowledge 

∙ Good understanding of oil & gas operations and PSA regime.
∙ Strong communications skills
∙ Strong stakeholder management skills (both internal and external)
∙ Experience and proven ability in leading and developing team members
