The Global Projects Organisation (GPO) is accountable for the line delivery of Upstream's global portfolio of over 45 major projects. GPO has 4 key roles: .
- Integration, with overall accountability for FM delivery from the beginning of project appraisal to first production, .
- Optimisation, with a focus on selecting the right development concepts, leveraging standardization, segment scale and learning, .
- Execution, continuously improving efficiency with rigorous performance management, .
- Advice, to inform segment portfolio decisions.

Significant value is created in the front end of projects where we optimize the development concept with multi-disciplinary input, and a standardized model will ensure that we performance manage the developments to ensure that we continuously improve. .

The goal of the GPO is to deliver sustainable efficiency improvement, close the learning loop with Operations, and to deliver functional performance into GPO Projects.
Role synopsis Provide Cost Engineering to BP Jacket Fabrication Management Team on site.
Position is open for Azerbaijani nationals only.

Key accountabilities

• Involvement in collecting and capturing contractors data for input into clients Cost model
• Review and endorse contractors monthly valuation and input of same data into Cost model
• Track and maintain contractors approved commitment values and monitor VO’s (Variation Orders) and pending changes
• Attend monthly commercial meetings with objective to raising and resolve cost issues
• Trend actual data by way using data from valuation and investigate significant period movements.
• Maintain cost model used to manage Contractors Project Management Team and fabrication labour in order to perform validation, manning levels, productivity and forecasting and benchmarking information.
• Participation in periodic audits of contractor records
• Scheduled site walkabouts for cost data gathering & knowledge of delivery package
• Ad-hoc activities to support Jacket Cost Engineering Group and Forecasting
• Assist in the preparation of data collection for benchmarking
• Provide input into monthly cost report pack preparation.
• Manage Facilities for Company’ costs including updates to actuals, calculation of accruals, phased forecast to go as well as follow up queries with Contractor. Provide feed data into main Cost Model
• Manage cost model for Procurement and Site upgrades including capturing actuals, following up late billings, collection of MRR (Materials Requisition Register) for VOWD (Value of Work Done) calculation and close out of commitments. Provide feed data into main Cost Model
• Final account and close out requirement including, material reconciliation, reconciliation of actuals and obtain sign offs
• Ensure working methods are consistent with BP standards and approved procedures in the area of cost engineering ( OMS - Operating Management System, MPcp - Major Projects Common Process and CEPv2 - Cost Engineering Procedure Version 2)

Essential Education

• Degree-level education – either science/engineering or business/accounting

Essential experience and job requirements

• Must have track record of competence in Cost Engineering for BP in a construction site environment and be experienced in managing GPO MCE (Master Control Estimate) process, Forecasting Accuracy and GPO MPcp Cost Engineering Procedure v2.

Desirable criteria & qualifications

• Previous experience working with our contractors in Azerbaijan, especially at BDJF (Baku Deepwater Jackets Factory) facility
