Role synopsis

This role is within IT&S Infrastructure Support team. The role is concerned with the implementation, maintenance and repair of databases hosted in AGT region to ensure data availability, integrity and security of databases.
The role also includes provision of SAP Basis support for the AGT SAP system.
Position is open for Azerbaijani citizens.

Key accountabilities

- Development and design of database strategies, monitoring and improving database performance and capacity, and planning for future expansion requirements.
- Administration and support of SAP system. Ensure effective security, stable operation and peak performance of SAP environment and related components     
- Oracle (8i, 9i, 10g, 11g) and MsSQL (2000, 2005, 2008) Database Administration for the business applications in a multi-platform server environment (Windows 2000/2003/2008, Oracle/SUN Solaris and Red Hat Linux).
- Carry out database backup and recovery planning, performance management, routine database monitoring, proactive tuning, system checks, capacity planning and incident resolution to ensure database availability.
- Ensure the systems within the area of responsibilities complies to the Digital Security and SOX standards
- Cooperate with Desktop support, Applications Support and Project teams when required in support of fault resolution
- Review backup & recovery strategies and make sure that the backup schedules meet database recovery requirements

Essential Education

- Bachelor degree

Essential experience and job requirements

- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in areas of database administration and design
- Strong knowledge of Oracle and MsSQL database technologies
- Willingness to work out of business hours on occasional basis

Desirable criteria & qualifications

- Experience with SAP Basis support
- Experience in managing performance of 3rd party service providers
- Knowledge of ITIL (nformation Technology Infrastructure Library) and experience in working within ITIL frameworks
- Experience in providing consultancy to IT projects from infrastructure perspective
- Extensive knowledge of one or more IT&S service domain operations
- Proven experience of leading a team of diverse technical backgrounds
