Key accountabilities
-Provide specialist input into projects and operations in upstream oil, gas and condensate production
-Contribute to written company practices, and embed continuous improvement
-Provide technical assurance as required
-Lead reviews including Health, Safety, Environmental assessments and process design reviews
-Develop and deliver learning programmes that build capability and expertise, coaches others
-Work in collaboration with specialists and engineers of all disciplines across BP
-Input into process engineering work and deliverables from engineering contractors and suppliers
-Provide expert knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations relevant to process systems
-Maintain awareness of technology developments and opportunities and provide evaluation of new equipment and technology
-Lead R&D and network programmes
Essential Education
-Degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline
Essential experience and job requirements
-Minimum 4 year general Process Engineering experience and with expertise in oil, gas processing and LNG, water systems, simulation, energy efficiency and heat transfer
-Experience in design, selection and application of oil/gas/water separation and conditioning equipment, ideally in the upstream
-Practical experience of oil and gas plant commissioning and operation
Other essential skills and knowledge
-Chartered/Professional Engineer preferred
-Knowledge and experience of the engineering contractor and supplier communities
-Expert design and operational knowledge of the principal operations within the upstream industry
-Understanding of cost budget development and control of expenditure
-Knowledge of design, selection and application of oil/gas/water separation and conditioning equipment, process simulation tools, and process hazards analysis techniques is required
-Organisational, planning and prioritizations skills as well as written and oral communication skills
-Written and oral fluency in English
Desirable criteria & qualifications -Must be a motivated self-starter, an excellent communicator and be able to work with all levels of management, engineers and field operations staff
-Strong team player with the ability to stand alone in challenging situations
