Role synopsis
The Reservoir Engineer will work on a wide range of activities from reservoir simulation to field development support for new well delivery, depletion planning, model building and the development of opportunities for production growth within the ACG asset. The successful candidate will report to the relevant Reservoir Management Team leader and will work within a small integrated team to support the delivery of the field Depletion Plan.
Key accountabilities
Reservoir modelling and simulation using VIP and other tools in support history matching work
Analysis of surveillance and other data, and incorporation into dynamic models, to support optimisation of new well locations
Lead the process of medium-long term production forecasting for the field
Lead sector reviews – integrating all relevant data to support recommendations regarding well offtake and injection rates
Evaluate individual well performance to support recommendations for changes in depletion strategy
Develop surveillance strategies for relevant field sectors and wells
Lead interactions with Base Management and new well Delivery teams regarding field management issues
Essential Education
Petroleum engineering University degree
Essential experience and job requirements
10 years of experience in field development planning and depletion planning
7 years experience in reservoir simulation in oil fields.
Ability to analyse static and dynamic reservoir data and make operational decisions based on overall reservoir performance
Desirable criteria & qualifications
• Gas and /or oil (waterflood) field management experience
• Knowledge of reservoir surveillance tools
• Reservoir simulation experience
• Familiarity with uncertainty analysis
• Good knowledge of depletion planning principles.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Partnership and team working skills
• Awareness of business drivers.
• A strong willingness to learn and think laterally.
