Purpose of Job:

Accurately and safely receive, offload, check, and correctly store received goods in the appropriate locations within the warehouse. Carry out materials movements and inspections to ensure compliance with company procedures and customer contract requirements.

Accountabilities

• Ensure that the store facility and materials are kept safely in a secure, organised and tidy condition and that all store activities are performed in an efficient and safe manner.
• Ensure quality plans, procedures, goods receipt, preservation, segregation, storage, and goods despatch processes are adhered to.
• Ensure materials receipt, inspection, data collection, and inventory activities are in compliance with company and customer procedures at all times.

• Ensure all despatched goods are correctly labelled, secured and packed in accordance with company and customer documentation requirements and procedures at all times.

Responsibilities

• Performs unloading, inspection, storing, picking, issuing, packing, labelling, loading of ordered items.
• Ensure that all tools, equipment, and materials are issued from the warehouse with the appropriate and correct documentation.
• Carry out monthly rolling stock counts and reconcile against inventory records in MRP system.
• Carry out stock check/audit of stock at warehouse, and other PDL project locations.
• Assist with offloading, loading, arrangement of containers, packing of materials, transport etc. for re-location of specified materials.
• Any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by the Line Management
• Prepare and provide input for monthly inventory reports as required by management.
• Monitor stock levels of equipment and administer the MRP stock database.
• Issue stock items, plant, tools or equipment required for projects to operations personnel, as required.
• Receive services, tools, plant and equipment back into stock and amend records, as appropriate.
• Order parts, consumables, packing, pallets, labels etc required for warehouse activities, raise PO’s and be responsible for expediting until goods are received
• Complete materials inspection records and record any defective deliveries and report to Materials Controller and QHSE representative.
• Ensure all work areas are kept clean and free of obstructions.
• Ensure safe lifting and materials handling operations at all times.
• Ensure goods are securely strapped to pallets and that packaging is sufficient in crates and boxes to stop goods from moving freely during transportation, loading and unloading.
• To assist management with all stores related issues on daily basis as and when requested.
• To be the H&S representative for your area and to assist in other areas if required.
• The Employee shall comply with Company Procedures and Health, Safety & Environmental Rules and shall report to the Employer any circumstance that affects or may affect the Health, Safety, Environment or the Employee’ performance, which may as well include working conditions
• Goods outward inspection. Checking packing, labelling and documentation is in order prior to goods despatch to customer or project location.
• Visual and detailed inspection and preparing reports for any damage caused during transportation, unloading, materials checking etc.
• Communicate effectively with company personnel, customer representatives, contractors and Third Parties
• Ensure all materials databases and reporting tools are updated and maintained concisely and accurately with the latest information.

• Ensure that material code creation is conducted accurately, concisely and in a consistent manner

• Proactively inform materials controller in case of unexpected delays or issues with received orders. Provide the necessary support to logistics and operations teams to resolve any customer service, quality or safety issues.
• Provide input to weekly and monthly safety statistics.
• Participate in external and internal safety inspections, and quality audits.
• Provide technical support and advice to company personnel regarding materials movement and inventory processes.
Authority
• Raise non-conformances related to warehousing activities.
• Stop any job or unsafe act to avoid accidents, injury or damage to personnel or property.
• Take proactive actions to improve the quality and safety performance of warehouse operations.

Internal:

Operations, QHSE, Contract Delivery Manager, Supply Chain inventory and materials team. Warehouse Operatives.

External:

Customer representatives, vendors, external auditors

FOR RECRUITMENT PURPOSES

Education/Qualification/Training

Essential:

Technical Qualification, materials inventory, or handling training, Hazardous goods awareness. Manual Handling training.

Desirable:

Degree Qualification in a relevant field. Forklift License. Rigging and Lifting training.

Experience

Essential:

- 3 years minimum as a Warehouse Operative or Storeman
- Proven experience in warehousing, materials handling and inventory.
- Experienced and knowledgeable in packing and preservation techniques.
- Experience in materials movements from requisition, through to delivery to site, close out and reconciliation.
- Proven knowledge of materials quality assurance, quality control, packing, preservation, warehousing and logistics.

Desirable:

- 5 plus years experience as a Warehouse Operative or Storeman for a BP vendor managed inventory contractor.
- Working knowledge of MRP systems

Desirable:

MRP, SAP, ERP system competence.
