Azerbaijan Tourism Board (Azərbaycan Turizm Bürosu) is responsible for the enhancement of destination value and for the creation of a unique portrait for the country. Azerbaijan Tourism Board is making extensive efforts to ensure successful tourism development; marketing and promoting the tourism potential of the destination.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Research Specialist.

Responsibilities:

• To respond to requests for information in tourism field to the Tourism Industry and Project Management Unit
• To conduct benchmark and diagnostic studies in various spheres of the tourism sector
• To develop research design and methodology for assigned research topics
• To conduct research in cooperation with other units of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board
• To develop models and policy proposals
• To produce economic analyses to back up relevant policy proposals
• To propose amendments to the existing legislation/regulations and follow up with relevant public agencies
• To establish and promote contacts and cooperation with representatives of Tourism Industry
• To establish and promote contacts and cooperation with academics and researchers

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in research in economics, tourism and/or hospitality fields
• Minimum Master’s degree in economics or related field from a reputable university (US/UK preferred)
• Experience in government workflow is preferred
• Experience in cooperation with experts from other disciplines; experience in tourism
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Azerbaijani and English languages
