Job Title: Coating Specialist

Department: Quality Control

Reporting to: Coating Engineer SNR

Date of Issue: 22 July 2019

Main Purpose of Role:

Working closely with the SNR Coating Engineer, reviewing/creating project specifications from Company or Subcontractors, managing and co-ordination with Quality Control personnel and a day to day basis.

Prime Responsibilities and Duties:

• Reporting directly to Senior Coating Engineer;
• Ensures that all health and safety requirements are in place and being followed;
• Review Project Documents including scope of work, project specification, and drawings;
• Review drawings, MTO and requisitions, highlight any shortages to Procurement/Project Team;
• Create Engineering queries following review of documentaion and follow up;
• Provide coating engineering solutions of works as requried;
• Review coating reports from Subcontractors;
• Attend meetings with Company and/or Subcontractors;
• Co-ordination with Quality Control personnel;
• Provide guidance and training to Quality Control personnel;
• Surveillance of all coating works, resolving and reporting any issues at site;
• Monitor progress of the shop fabrication activities and highlight any concerns raised
• Travel to witness coating works at Subcontractors facilities;

• SNR Coating Engineer
• Project Team

Work experience:

• 10-15 years within oil and gas sectors

Education:

• High technical education
• Presence of one of below certificates is mandatory inclusive of specific level as indicated:
a. Institute of Corrosion - Pipeline Coating Inspector Level 2.
b. BGAS/CSWIP - Painting Inspector Grade 2.
c. NACE - Coating Inspector Level 2.
d. BGAS/CSWIP - Site and/or Mill Coatings Inspector.
e. FROSIO - Coating Inspector Level 2.
f. IRMII - International Registered Marine Insulation Inspector

Knowledge:

• In-depth knowledge of painting and coatings within oil and gas sectors including equipment and international standards.

Skills:

• Good verbal & written communication skills
• Can work under pressure
• Team work
• Able to identify and correct engineering issues.
