Duties and Tasks:

• Perform maintenance and technical activities in order to verify the Harbour Crane (LHM250) is maintained or repaired in line with manufacturer and company requirements;
• Confirm all safety devices are operational, reporting any defects;

• Carry out pre-use checks for cranes including a DROPS inspection;

• Operate LHM250 Harbour Crane at SPS or mobile cranes at other sites as instructed by site management; 
• Ensure you are medically fit and in possession of up-to-date training and competency certification and legislative documents;

• Confirm all servicing routines and pre-use checks have been completed before starting crane operations;
• Confirm that the crane has current and proper certification for its intended use;
• Participating in the planning, including risk assessment and pre-lift safety meeting of each operation;
• Verifying clear and agreed communications with the Banksman prior to undertaking lift (verbal/hand signals);
• Operate the crane safely in accordance with procedures, local legislation, manufacturer’s recommendations and the approved lifting plan;
• Confirm load weight and appliance setup is in accordance with procedural  requirements, local legislation, manufacturer’s recommendations and the approved lifting plan;
• Verifying the effects of wind and other environmental conditions;
• Operate maintenance equipment and tools  in accordance with procedures, local legislation and manufacturer’s recommendations;

• Advise Maintenance Supervisor on the spare parts, lubricants and other items required for the repairs and servicing;

• Ensure good housekeeping is maintained at all;
• Carry out other duties as requested by line supervisor or site management;
• Understand and Comply with Bos Shelf QHSE System & Policies;
• Participate and contribute in QHSE audits;
• Strictly follow instructions from line Supervisor providing it is safe to do so, Stop any unsafe work using your obligation to ‘Stop the job’.
