Who are we looking for

As a Payroll Consultant, you will assist PwC Tax Reporting & Strategy team to deliver a broad range of tax projects to our clients including but not limited to providing payroll and accounting services to our existing and new clients, conducting risk management review, ensuring optimization of payroll and accounting processes. We will offer you all needed trainings, experience sharing and networking within the PwC Global team – to build up your profile as a truly professional, international expert in the Payroll field.

About the role

The successful candidate will work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Prepare schedules and process payroll once or twice a month for clients based on the relevant agreements;
• Ensure that the calculation of earnings and deductions are accurate and completed in a timely manner, in compliance with local laws, employee contracts, and international agreements if applicable;
• Process payroll information associated with newly hired employees, terminated employees, wage verification, withholding allowances, pay rate changes, status changes, benefit deductions, payroll garnishments etc.;
• Respond to payroll inquiries and requests of clients’ employees and other internal and external users of payroll data;
• Research and troubleshoot payroll discrepancies, and resolve any payroll related issues;
• Collaborate with clients’ Finance and Human Resources teams, as necessary;
• Explain Policies and Procedures as well as Compliance as needed.

Requirements

• A graduate degree with major in Tax, Finance & Accounting, Economics, or Law;
• ACCA/CIMA/CPA professional qualification is a plus;
• Minimum 2 years of experience in finance/accounting, at least 1 year focusing on Payroll;
• Understanding of general accounting principles;
• Knowledge of local tax legislation, knowledge of PSA as an advantage;
• Knowledge of 1C, Navision, SAP or any other accounting software as an asset;
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel;
• Strong command of spoken and written Azerbaijani, English and Russian;
• Willingness to undertake new and challenging tasks;
• Strong analytical, team working skills and motivation for personal development.
