Role synopsis

In order to support ongoing work in the region, PD&MS Group are looking for a QA/QC Engineer to join the team based in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Candidates should have previous significant experience in a QC Inspection role in the oil and gas industry and have experience in using QA/QC management systems. Additionally, holding a CSWIP 3.2 certificate is essential.
The role will Maintain quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products; recording quality results.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct Vendor QC Inspections
• Conduct QC Site visits both On and Offshore
• Liaise with Client and 3rd Party Inspectors
• Check and approve Fabrication packs
• Review Site Construction data dossiers
• Control and coordinate QA of the QC Inspection i.e. SIR’s, defects register, snagging sign off etc.
• Maintain Welder Qualifications and develop and maintain Weld Register
• WPS selection for PD&MS construction works
• Focal point for QC activities at PD&MS managed facilities
• Coordination of third party inspectors to satisfy quality plan requirements
• Monitor and measure supplier quality performance, conduct analysis and report trends
• Compile and issue QA/QC Reports
• Provide QC Inspectors with guidance and direction to meet targets
• Help produce Quality documentation for the client as directed by the QHSE Manager
• Any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by QHSE Manager
• Liaise with Procurement and Materials department to ascertain Inspection schedules
• Responsible for the development, management and continued improvement of QC system in alignment with management system
• QC procedure document preparation and implementation
• External vendor audit and evaluation in relation to QC compliance and inspection
• Reporting to QHSE Manager on performance of the QA / QC systems
• QA/QC Tech review of Package Management documentation
• Attending quality meetings
• Comply with the Company Quality and Health and Safety Policies
• Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
• Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed
• Responsible for ensuring professional development is maintained and identified competency requirements are undertaken in a timely manner
• Adherence to the company integrated management system
• Compliance with quality assurance, health and safety and environmental policies
• Demonstrate and promote PD&MS QHSE principles and lead by example
• Ensure unsafe activities are challenged
• Adherence to the requirements of the best practice standards recommendations and processes in the undertaking of duties, in particular, risk assessment and control, reliability and failure prevention necessary to ensure the safe design, provision and use of tools, equipment and systems
• Demonstrate and promote PD&MS values and lead by example

Essential qualifications and experience

• CSWIP 3.2 Welding Inspector or equivalent
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Demonstrable experience in developing and maintaining environmental, quality assurance and quality control systems
• Good understanding of Codes/standards requirements, typically ASME, AWS, BS EN and DNV
• Demonstrable exposure to and understanding of NDT techniques and processes
• Good understanding of the Company held certification standards
• Demonstrable experience of delivering a safe operation in the work environment
• Understanding of contractual, commercial and cost issues
• Demonstrable experience in conducting Audits
• Demonstrable experience of Risk Management
• Competent in the use of MS Office Applications
• Survival BOSIET/FOET
• MIST
• Excellent written and spoken English
