Electrician

The Electrician will be responsible for following the prescribed procedures, policies and all pertinent codes electrically to trouble shoot, repair, install and inspect equipment as required maintaining and repairing existing production equipment. This will be exclusive of modifications or changes to PLC codes, programs or sequences of computer controlled equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Considers all safety precautions and proper isolation of circuits to cause a minimum of interference to operations. 
Determine necessary tools and material. 
Plans to perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical principles, wiring specifications codes, properties of various materials and principles of operation and application of equipment.
Locates sources of trouble of any type of electrical equipment by tracing and testing circuits and inspecting for faulty operations.
Uses PLC interface as required to diagnose equipment-related problems with computer controlled equipment. 
Dismantles, inspects, repairs, adjusts, or replaces faulty parts and wiring on motors, generators, power distribution and control panels, circuit breakers, rectifiers, electronic devices, etc.
Reassembles, tests and adjusts equipment for safe and proper operation.
In emergencies, shunts out defective coils in order to get equipment back in operation.  Changes DC motor characteristics by shunting series coils, etc.
Installs conduit, fittings, switches, controls and fixtures and wires and connects all types of electrical equipment as required for new installation or replacement of facilities.
Make all required splices and connector joints.  Adjusts all new equipment for proper operating characteristics.  Able to perform repairs, adjustments, etc. to state of the art electrical components, i.e. (inverter drives, SCR units, programmable controllers, etc.)
Carrying out installations and repairs on electrical equipment, systems and electronic features adhering strictly to electrical manuals, code, diagrams utilizing hand tools, power tools and fault diagnosis instruments.
Setting up power supply; conduit and wiring for currently installed equipment, including programmable controllers, while adhering to blueprints utilizing voltage tester and hand tools.
In charge of preparing schedules and performing periodical maintenance & troubleshooting for in house equipment thus ensuring minimal downtime.
Carry out diagnosis and correct or replace malfunctioning electronic units like the PLC, circuit board etc.
Render assistance in administration and regulation of the duties for junior electricians.
Reactive maintenance of electrical equipment within a workshop environment.
Working safely and efficiently, ensuring Health and Safety standards are adhered too.
Whilst the majority of the work will be maintaining electrical equipment used in the manufacturing you will also be required to assist with mechanical repairs and non-core electrical repairs where required.
Repairs and replaces defective electrical components.
Service and repair plant facilities equipment such as air compressors, heat exchangers, boilers and electrical flushing units, water pumps, filtration trolleys, etc.
Adjust and test electrical equipment as per requirement.
Troubleshooting and calibrating AC & DC drives
Able to interpret electrical schematics.
Able to customize electrical design as per client requirement.
Capable to modify & install PLC, soft start and VFD as per application requirement.
To liaise with client & suppliers related to electrical or electronics enquiries.
To liaise with different branch electrical personnel as per job requirement.

Job Requirements

High School Diploma or G.E.D.

PREFFERED
 
Electrical, mechanical, hydraulics and pneumatics experience
