The international company specializing in global commodities trading has a unique opportunity for Oil, chemical or strong mathematical backgrounded  aspiring candidates to be trained as Trade Support Specialists for their Supply Chain Management team of in abroad offices.  This position in the Supply Chain team requires close work with the trading team and all the participants of the complex and multi-tier supply chain to execute, support and oversee the physical trading activity. Candidates are also expected to report to the Supply Chain Manager and other departments within the company on all the phases of every transaction.

The candidate will be responsible for arranging the proper and cost-effective functioning of the supply chain and running variety of logistics, planning, scheduling, operations and documentation related activities including overseeing specific transactions from beginning to end (shipment of petroleum products), ensuring internal systems are correctly updated and reporting operational activities. The candidate should have excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to perform successfully and efficiently under pressure. The role also requires someone that can consistently produce accurate work in a timely fashion, has excellent attention to detail and the ability to resolve problems independently.
 
Although desirable but not essential, the candidate’s previous work experience and efficiency in logistics, management of complex supply chains and multimodal transport with proper control over issuance, provision and exchange of accompanying shipping documents will be a positive factor in the screening of successful candidates. Past experience in working with commercial, sales-purchase, transshipment service and freight forwarding contracts, reviewing the operational terms in new contracts at the tendering stage, identifying the clauses that may be detrimental to the company and taking exceptions as necessary will also increase candidates’ chances. Understanding oil fundamentals, products, grades, qualities, general market trends and realities is also important.
 
Responsibilities will include:

Implementing effective cargo assurance procedures, providing assurance on quality and quantity issues, investigating and resolving quality/quantity/demurrage claims and disputes effectively.
Managing relationship with inspection, transport and forwarding companies to ensure compliance with company's expectations/requirements related to policies, procedures, billing rates and performance.
Submitting/reviewing operational claims in a timely manner and actively seeking ways to minimize delays and operational costs.

Working continuously on the ways of streamlining and optimizing the existing supply chains and providing a constructive input into the design of cost efficient business processes.
Gathering, scanning, filtering and analyzing market intelligence on ongoing business flows, shipping dynamics and directions, import-export patterns and fluctuations to existing business models with a view to provide an insightful business solutions consistent with the company’s wider strategy.
Handling the planning and shipping execution for marine and inland shipments of oil/oil products and diligent implementation of post-fixture operations.
Providing cover and support to other benches and wider operations as and when required.
Providing for and controlling the timely issuance of proper shipping documents, and giving documentary and operational instructions to suppliers, forwarders, transport and other service providing companies.
Bookkeeping transactions and invoicing as per contractual terms and record keeping of all the details for internal reporting purposes
Checking data input entry of physical contracts onto internal record keeping systems. Ensuring accurate, complete, consistent and timely data capture.
 
Qualifications/Personal Attributes:

Excellent numerical reasoning and analytical capabilities as well as problem solving skills are a must have.
Bachelor’s degree, preferably but not essentially, in Shipping/Marine Engineering/Petroleum or Chemical Engineering/Commerce/Logistics/Business Management/Economics/Law or other relevant disciplines requiring great analytical skills. A Master’s degree is desirable but not required. Holders of degrees from reputable European universities will be given priority.
Qualifications and/or membership to professional bodies (CIPS, CILT, CIS, APICS, CILEx and etc.) or qualification by experience would be highly desirable.
The candidate must have an ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced and dynamic environment as well as strong organizational skills and must be able to work under pressure and out of office hours.
Must be detail oriented and demonstrate thoroughness and strong ownership of work.
Must have inquisitive mind-set with strong desire to learn new subjects and disciplines.
High level of proficiency in English/Russian (both written and oral).
Good computer skills
