Position: Facility Electrical Engineer
Summary and Purpose of Role:
A Facility Electrical is a job role that is responsible for organizing, monitoring, and supervising electrical related facility maintenance operations; performs a variety of technical tasks relative to facility maintenance; provides technical assistance to the department facility manager
Areas of Responsibility Include:
Supervision:
Provide the technical expertise in identifying operational enhancements to improve design, safety, reliability and cost efficiency
Proven ability to understand the electrical infrastructure of projects to inform, guide, and commission complex building systems
Participate in the preparation of bid evaluations & analysis;
Participate in design reviews to reduce operational and maintenance costs and optimize Life Cycle and limiting capital replacement costs and energy consumption;
Participate actively in pre-operations and operations phases of projects, including electrical system selection; estimating department budget analysis; impact of codes and zoning on projects; value engineering; oversight to the mechanical/electrical coordination process; systematic constructability review; electrical system selection including life cycle analysis; analyze electrical system controls options and provide system recommendations.
Investigate equipment failures and diagnose faulty operation; provide recommendations to customer.
Control engineering changes during project execution;
Provide detailed technical reports for Facilities Management to assess subsystem performance and modification or upgrade requirements.
Responsible for representing the company in all interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members.
Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review, and participate in the work of staff responsible for facility maintenance.
Establish schedules and methods for providing facility maintenance services; identify resource needs; review needs with appropriate management staff; allocate resources accordingly.
Oversees installation, inspections, repairs, trouble shooting and daily maintenance of buildings, infrastructures, and facility equipment.
Develop and organize preventative maintenance and safety inspection programs for all facilities and equipment.
Responsible for keeping buildings and facilities in good status to comply with environmental, health, and safety policies
Coordinate with contractors in providing contract services.
Answer questions and provide information to the public; investigate complaints and recommend corrective action as necessary to resolve complaints.
Complaints shall be logged and reported to SD Facility Manager on a weekly basis.
Perform related duties as required.
Position Qualification Knowledge
2-3 years’ experience in facility management, construction or similar position.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
A highly motivated individual with entrepreneurial approach.
Possess an extremely friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing personality, with ability to openly communicate and work with all types of individuals and personalities.
Ability to develop right working process
Ability to analyze situations with a systemic approach, identify existing or potential problems and recommend solutions;
Advanced knowledge and proficiency utilizing MS Office, AutoCAD;
Ability to pass all background checks and obtain a security clearance at the required level;
English knowledge is an asset.
