We are currently looking for experienced professionals for the following role:

Lead Process Engineer

Purpose:

The Lead Process engineer shall have the ability to carry out engineering and design of process systems and functions, as well as doing analysis.  The lead engineer is responsible for the quality, technical assurance and integrity of all Process Engineering Discipline deliverables (including simulations, calculations, datasheets, drawings, reports, philosophies, operating and commissioning procedures and Hazop closeout actions). 
 
Key Accountabilities:

• Experienced in managing a team of Engineers and Designers.
• Experience in working with large multinational oil and gas companies
• Coordination and implementation of engineering activities.
• Responsible for safe working practices both personally and for the designers in the team, using the WorleyParsons OneWay framework.
• Responsible for personal safety and safe working practices.  Understand and follow OH&S procedures.
• Develop positive client and project relationships.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to work autonomously.
• Experience in coaching and mentoring graduates and inexperienced engineers and designers.
• Provide input to proposals (man-hour estimates and execution strategies) and assistance with business development and client relationship management including liaison with client discipline representatives to establish technical direction where not provided by codes and standards.
• Manage Value Improvement Processes including Design to Capacity, Value Engineering and Risk Workshops. Perform process optimisation studies and technology selection in pre-FEED including facilitating Value Engineering workshops.
• Develop and update Engineering Standards as well as Technical specifications.
• Capable of performing process selection, concept and FEED through to Detailed Design and EPC (including commissioning and initial start-up procedures and operating manuals) for major greenfield developments and associated brownfield integrations, upgrades and troubleshooting/debottlenecking.

Essential Skills / Competencies Required:

• Knowledge and experience of the Oil and Gas Industry and relevant codes and standards, specifically familiar with international engineering standards such as API 520, API 521, AP 14C and 14E, and industry design practices including HazID, HazOp, SIL, risk ranking.
• Experience in Oil and Gas Industry process selection, familiar with the processes used and the key parameters for design including onshore processes: multiphase pipelines, slugcatchers, emulsion handling, produced water treatment, oil stabilization, oil storage and loading, hydrate management, acid gas removal, gas dehydration, LPG extraction, LPG purification storage and loading, gas compression, LNG production, storage and loading; and offshore processes: wellheads and flowlines, primary, secondary and tertiary recovery techniques (such as gaslift, water injection, gas injection, downhole pumping etc), production and test separation and other well testing systems, hydrate management, gas dehydration and compression, oil dehydration and pumping systems, safeguarding systems, hydrocarbon utilities including flare relief and blowdown systems and fuel gas systems; plus non-hydrocarbon utility systems such as open drains, closed drains, chemical injection, seawater systems, cooling water systems, heating medium systems, waste heat recovery, potable water and plant water, firewater, chlorination, plant air and instrument air.
• Experience in conducting optimisation and debottlenecking studies in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Experience in commissioning and initial start-up procedures and operating manuals associated with Brownfield integrations, upgrades and troubleshooting/debottlenecking.
• Experience in gas processing and hydraulic modelling and use of software tools and manual calculations to design systems.
• Experience in writing design and operating philosophies.
• Experience in Process software such as Hysys (static and dynamic), Flarenet, Pipesim, Olga, Flaresim or equivalents.
• Ability to develop philosophies and specifications for oil and gas processing equipment.
• Knowledge and experience in risk analysis and modelling.
• Ability to perform blowdown modelling for sizing blowdown systems and for determining minimum material temperatures.
• Experience in design, construction requirements of onshore and offshore facilities.
• Experience in design and engineering to minimize field installation and commissioning activities.
• Capable of assessing conceptual solutions to engineering problems and improvements within the operations and safety constraints.
• Review and checking of the technical content of 3rd party equipment and packages.
• Technical support and input to the package engineer and procurement team with regards to any packages.
• Reviews of bid documents from EPC Contractors and preparation of evaluation reports.
• Proven ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Experienced in managing a large team of engineers and designers.
• Experience of working in a multicultural, multi-disciplined, multi-site work share environment.
• Ability to work in a team environment and coordinate with other discipline lead engineers.
• Experience in working with large multinational oil and gas companies.
• Computer skills in relevant packages including databases, spreadsheets and word processing packages.
• Well developed report writing and public speaking skills
• Excellent people management skills such as leadership, team, interpersonal, coaching, mentoring and supervisory skills.  Must be able to build, motivate, develop and manage an effective team.
• Excellent management skills including the ability to plan, set goals; and manage time, priorities, resources, accountabilities, schedules and cost.
• Extensive technical and practical experience in process design and operation.
• Approximately 15 years, with a minimum of 5 years experience in either a senior engineering position in the hydrocarbons sectors and at least 10 years in an engineering role.
• A recognised degree in the relevant discipline or equivalent.
• Postgraduate qualifications in the relevant discipline; management or supervisory qualifications or equivalent experience, desirable with pipelines.
• Desirable to have registration as a chartered engineer with the Institution of Engineers, preferably at Fellow level.
