SECTION 1: POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Commissioning Instrument Senior Technician
SECTION 2: KEY ROLES
• Member of a team of Instrument Technicians in Execute Phase commissioning activities during onshore construction/commissioning, offshore installation/Hookup and Commissioning and Start Up
• Lead a team of Commissioning instrument technicians, and plan and schedule daily work activities
• Completion of assigned instrument pre commissioning activities and checksheets
• To manage assigned aspects of Instrument static and dynamic commissioning as required.
• Deliver Instrument Commissioning through the System Handover Management Process
SECTION 4: PRE-REQUISITES
SECTION 4.1: BASIC SKILLS
• Competent in communicating in English language.
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Good inter-personal and communication skills.
• Deep knowledge of Instrument field equipment.
• Ability to supervise Instrument technicians
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team and communicate with discipline engineers and technicians
• Ability to interpret and understand Loop diagrams, schematics and engineering datasheets in English.
• Computer literate in MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
SECTION 4.2: TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum A recognised instrument qualification from their native country
SECTION 4.3: EXPERIENCE
• Proven track record of relevant commissioning experience on Instrument Systems on onshore or offshore Oil&Gas, Petro-Chemical or Power Industry facilities, and demonstrate an understanding of Commissioning process including:-
o Interpretation of Loop diagrams, schematics and engineering datasheets
o Commissioning of Fire and Gas, PCS, PSD systems and Safety Instrumented Systems Control of Work / PTW processes during execution
• Control of Work / PTW processes during execution
• Commissioning of utility and process systems
• System Handover Management Process pre commissioning checksheet completion
SECTION 5: RESPONSIBILITIES & OBJECTIVES
Responsibilities:
• Demonstrate personal HSSE leadership and excellent HSE behaviours at all times, and ensure that safety expectations are communicated and maintained.
• Communicate with technician reports daily and talk through the following days activities identifying any HSSE issues to be raised at toolbox talks.
• Attend all mandatory training as specified in HSE, and Permit To Work training schedule.
• Provide coaching / mentor national and junior team members as necessary
• Assist technician reports to resolve any technical issues.
• Ensure technicians submit daily the checksheets records of testing carried out.
• Ensure all team members are fully aware and understand all the projects safe working practices and adhere to them to maintain a SAFE working environment.
• Carry out loop checking, simulation and calibration of all instruments connected to process, utility and fire and gas loops.
• Assist discipline engineers to compile Livening Up Notices to allow sub system/system energisation
• Take part in Tri Party Sub System/System Mechanical Completion walk downs and punch list item categorization.

• To complete the work scope assigned within the defined project schedule, ensuring the engineering design standards are achieved and equipment operability satisfactorily demonstrated
