Job Purpose 

Reporting to the Regional Finance Manager, your primary responsibility will be to support a Management team of across Commercial, Operations, Strategy & Planning, Human Resources ensuring company compliance with external and corporate requirements in line with regulations and standards.

Requirements 

To be successful in this role you will have the following capabilities, experience & qualifications:

• Bachelor Degree (major in Accounting) or equivalent
• CA, CPA, CIMA qualification or international equivalent (with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience)
• 8- 10  years broadly related experience, preferable of which 3-5 years with an airline
• High degree of fluency with Australian Accounting Standards, including their interpretation and application
• Team management experience and ability to drive a customer-centric culture
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build effective  relationships with senior leaders
• Extensive experience in a similar role in a large and fast-paced organisation with complex accounting and reporting requirements
• Solid experience using large computerised financial systems (Oracle knowledge desirable but not essential)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Responsibilities 

In this role you will manage and mentor a team of finance professionals and will be responsible for:
• Partnering with the business to support budget preparations, forecasting and consulting on variances
• Managing the month-end process and monthly reconciliations
• Overseeing General Ledger control accounts, Accounts Payable, Revenue, Cash, and Accounts Receivable.
• Preparation and submission of reports to Etihad Head Office
• Statutory reporting and submission such as GST returns, FBT and BAS reporting.
• Fixed assets accounting relating to acquisition, write off, and disposal of assets ensuring compliance with delegated authority
• Oversee expenditure payments processed directly by outstations for materials, services and general charges ensuring compliance with delegated authority.
• Process expenditure payments in Head Office accounts for transactions beyond authority delegated to outstations for materials, services, and general charges ensuring compliance with delegated authorities.
• Supervising local payroll payments ensuring compliance with personnel policy and delegated authorities.
