The British Council is the United Kingdom’s international organisation for educational opportunities and cultural relations.  We operate in more than 110 countries.  Our purpose is to build mutually beneficial relationships between people in the UK and other countries and increase appreciation of the UK’s creative ideas and achievements.
 
We are looking for experienced professional to fill the position of Arts Manager.
 
The Arts Manager duties are: 
 
• To maintain momentum in the British Council art programme during temporary absence of Art Manager
• Provide creative leadership for the arts programme, ensuring that projects and events are of high quality, reflect the innovation and diversity of practice in the UK and embody opportunities for reciprocity between UK and Azerbaijani artists and audiences
• Implementation of the long-term strategy for the British Council Arts programme, in line with the Azerbaijan 2015 planning framework and the global/regional strategy for the arts.
• Identification and  development of strategic partnerships, building  relationships with decision makers and influencers
• Management of the finances of the arts programme, including planning, monitoring and reporting
• Overall management of the arts programme, ensuring effective delivery by team, monitoring and evaluation and enhancement of reputation   
 
Requirements:

The successful candidate will be fluent in English and Azerbaijani, and will offer skills and experience to match the job profile for this post, enclosed in the application pack. (Download Role Profile) ( Role Profile Arts Manager-1.doc )
Successful applicants will need to be able to travel within Azerbaijan and other countries on business and to attend evening and weekend events.
 
Benefits:

Post will benefit from a six month’s fixed-time contract, a medical insurance package, and annual defined leave allowance.  Post will be appointed at British Council Grade G and starting annual salary will be AZN 22,530 p.a. paid monthly. Successful candidate will need to start work with us as soon as possible. Working schedule is flexible and negotiated upon recruitment
