Baltika-Baku is searching for an experienced financial & business leader to take on the role of the Chief Financial Officer based in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The Company:

Baltika Baku is the largest beer producer in Azerbaijan with a market share about 70%.  Our portfolio of brands includes the following popular beer names such as Khirdalan, Tuborg, 33 export, Kuler, Afsana, Jigulyovskoe, Baltika, Guiness. We are constantly enhancing the number of brands each year.

The Role:

The CFO is accountable for the success of the finance function supporting and challenging the operating business. The CFO provides financial insight and leadership vital for the future performance of the company and in the day-to-day operation. The CFO is responsible that the finance organization engages successfully with the business, providing the right financial insight for efficient and value creating decision making within a risk intelligent culture. The CFO ensures that the finance organization core responsibilities are being executed in an efficient and effective manner in compliance with internal and external policies and legislations. The CFO engages and involves managers and employees in creating a dynamic, successful and long-term sustainable customer and consumer focused business.
Reporting directly to the CEO and functionally to the Regional Controlling Director you will be accountable for the financial, legal and risk management operations of the company.

Strategic purpose of the position:

• Be an effective organizational leader and a key member of senior management
• Balance the responsibilities of head of function with business partnership as a board member
• Analyze cash flow, cost controls, and expenses to guide business leaders. Analyze financial statements to pinpoint areas for improvement
• Act as change ambassador of the organization
• Be an effective leader of the finance, accounting & IT functions
• Bring professional qualities to the role and the organization
• Drive operational excellence and efficiency
• Build trust & ensure team work within a Finance Department
• Ensure professional & clear relations with distributors
• To be involved & engaged to achieve significant growth for Carlsberg Group Brands in Azerbaijan
• Participate in further integration of companies in EE

Main responsibilities:

•  Country P&L
• Defines local operating strategy for: finance/accounting, IT
• Operates closely with Carlsberg Group regional and functional management 
• Establishes and implements short- and long-range departmental objectives, policies and operating procedures
• Communicates company strategy to subordinated staff, communicate relevant information to the Board of Directors; ensure good corporate governance etc.
• Manages above mentioned functions locally in coordination and coordination with the Board of Directors and Carlsberg Group;
• Manages and controls distribution, imports and exports in compliance with regional strategy;
• Ensure proper organizational set-up, subordinated  employees’ development and succession plans
• Facilitates growth and career development of the key teams/employees and ensure that they in turn facilitate the growth and career development of their direct reports.
• Defines operating budget with HQ, monitors budget performance against goals & objectives
 
Ideal Candidate:

You have capability of conclusive thinking and analyzing chain of consequences from different strategic routes. As a person, CFO should have a track record of being organized, responsive, and able to work under pressure and to focus on delivering results.
The ideal candidate has 8 – 10 years’ progressive management experience in a leadership role, with a minimum of five years CFO experience.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
Languages: Fluency in English & Russian

o Strong Knowledge of commercial and financial management practices
o Ability to communicate effectively with customers, consumers, employees, Board of Directors and other stakeholders
o Ability to develop, coach and motivate people and build up strong teams
o Empowering leadership style, Demonstrated abilities to lead and manage a successful team with achieved results
o Demonstrated ability to adopt and perform in new cultures ( if applicable)
o High personal drive & business acumen, pro-active, self-starter
o Strong execution skills, a strong doer and pace setter
o Visible leader that the team will follow easily, ability to motivate
o Very high level of integrity
