JOB TITLE:  PLANNER

REPORTS TO:  HEAD OF DEPT – WAE/F&C

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Sales
• Achieve assigned sales budgets.
• Set realistic sales targets in conjunction with Portfolio Managers, Suppliers Dep. Heads.
• Prepare, analyze and evaluate sales reports to highlight brands’ performance by door, category and reference.
• Monitor sales by reference, re-project and replenish accordingly.
• Develop and maintain a reliable sales data base for future buying decisions.

2. Stock
• Plan to maintain optimal stock levels.
• Gather and analyze historical information in order for the Portfolio Manager to select appropriate merchandize and compile sales and purchase plans based on the Portfolio Manager’s selection.
• To manage and administer stock levels at brand- item/location level and take corrective actions such as placing orders, in order to achieve the planned sales.
• To control and implement distributions in order to effect optimum stock levels by showroom.
• Initiate the analysis of aging of stock, and implement agreed upon methods for clearing unwanted stock.
• Maintain and manage replenishment techniques at item location level for brands under the assigned portfolio. Reviewing and updating the replenishment min max values based on the sales trend, customer expectations, store input and any other elements influencing the trend.
• Managing new launches to get maximum returns. Actions like stock and sales monitoring, re-ordering, transfers etc.

3. Suppliers
• Build win-win relationships with suppliers.
• Ensure that all the agreed upon terms and conditions with the suppliers are implemented.
• Manage all the administrative and operational functions that include but not limited to:  price revisions, preparing RTVs, invoicing, checking stock availability, deliveries, damages, communication of L.P.O’s, etc.
• To collect, coordinate and follow up on all the agreed upon incentive programmes.

4. Staff
• Build, nurture and encourage strong in-store relationships.
• Assist in the arrangement for product knowledge training.
• Conduct occasional visits to obtain and share brand related information.
• Follow up and provide solutions to store and brand specific operational issues and concerns.

5. Communication
• Communicate efficiently and effectively with the concerned internal and external parties.
• Compile detailed, accurate and professional presentations, post seasonal reports to internal and external parties.
• Compile brand performance (Stock and Sales) to concerned parties.

6. Marketing and Promotions
• Compile sales feed back on marketing activities such as promotions, events, advertising campaigns, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate Planner: Minimum Graduate (Degree/Diploma in Computer/ Commerce).
• Planner: Minimum Graduate (Degree/Diploma in Computer/ Commerce).
• Senior Planner: Preferably a MBA (Marketing).

EXPERIENCE

• Associate Planner: 0 to 2 years Planning/retail/stock/sales/ administrative or planning experience.
• Planner: 2 to 5 years planning retail/ stock/ sales/ administrative experience.
• Senior Planner: 5 or more years planning/ retail/ Sales/ administrative experience.

KNOWLEDGE

• Associate Planner: Basic understanding of retail market and accounting principles, computer literacy and English speaking. Knowledge of Oracle ERP is an advantage.
• Planner: Good understanding of basic accounting principles, inventory management, margins, planning, budgeting and forecasting. Computer literate and English Speaking. Knowledge of Oracle ERP is an advantage.
• Senior Planner: Comprehensive understanding of budgeting, accounting, forecasting and systems. Computer Literate and English Speaking. Knowledge of Oracle ERP is a must.
