What are my key objectives?
100% accuracy of staff salary and contractor fee payments
Process the payroll data in an organized and structured manner
Provide data entered onto payroll system to meet payment deadlines
Prepare payroll reports and provide monthly payroll data to finance for processing
Securely file payroll data and maintenance of confidential payroll data
Maintain compliance with Azerbaijan Republic Labor and Tax legislation
Deal with payroll queries and resolve or escalate as required
What will I be doing?
Maintain a timetable of actions that are required to complete payrolls
Collate payroll input data – checking how many hours employees have worked, processing holiday, sick and maternity pay and expenses, bonus, salary changes, calculating overtime, shift payments and pay increases, answering staff queries about timesheets or pay slips
Maintain supporting documentation and records that supports payroll input
Check and get approvals for all payroll related documents and provide proper filing
Generate service fee payments to direct contractors and provide payment advice
Payroll data is reviewed and approved prior to salary payments
There is a clear audit trail of data provided that matches completed payrolls Support the finance team with employee data for management reporting
Work with the finance department to make reports more usable (e.g. codes) for accounting
Update the payroll database and maintain audit trail of changes
Work with finance department to ensure compliance requirements
Support the finance team with payroll and other tax compliance requirements
Highlight and escalate areas of non-compliance identified
What are we looking for?
Minimum of Bachelor degree in accounting or similar
At least 3 years of experience in accounting/payroll area
Knowledge of Tax legislation of Azerbaijan Republic related to payroll processing
Knowledge of Labor Legislation of Azerbaijan Republic related to payroll processing
Strong process and planning mindset
Organized and focused on delivery to deadlines
Structured and process driven approach to work
Attention to detail
Able to establish credibility with finance and non-finance staff
Good communication skills
Good excel skills
Proficient Azeri and English
Good spreadsheet and written skills
