AMEC is a major Engineering and Construction Company involved in Oil and Gas Projects in Azerbaijan is looking for Commercial Team Lead (National)

The successful candidates should have:

• At least 8 years relevant experience in the same or a similar industry, e.g Commercial and Contract management
• Relationship management/interpersonal skills.
• Communication, influencing and negotiating skills
• Change management.
• Coaching and people management skills
• Team building skills.
• Commercial and Contract management
• Good knowledge of applicable legislation, and regulations.
• Negotiating and influencing skills

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out the following activities:

• Directing resources to achieve or exceed targets.
• Ensuring compliance with all statutory, client and company requirements.
• Recognising good performance and dealing with non performance
• Ensuring the Promotion of the highest standards of safety and environmental performance at all times.
• Ensuring the ongoing competence and development of staff.
• Ensuring that the right people are in the right positions.
• Continually monitoring performance and actively implementing a programme of continuous improvement.
• Linking reports to the strategy and operational targets
• Providing expert guidance for projects as and when required.
• Improving the ratings of issues on the Risk Register that are owned by the Commercial Manager.
• Complete annual staff PDR and salary reviews.
• Develop annual functional business plans, identifying key activities and priorities.
• Develop and implement a succession plan.

Staffing

Ensuring provision of sufficient numbers of appropriately qualified staff to address corporate requirements and the specific projects

Tendering

Ensure that the preparation of Tenders and proposals is undertaken in accordance with AMEC policies and procedures.

CRB process

Provide commercial guidance and input to the preparation of CRB paperwork.

Contract Documentation

Ensuring that Contracts entered into by the country are in line with AMEC Oil & Gas contracting principles and obtaining approval to depart from these principles where necessary.

Subcontract Arrangements

Ensuring that subcontractors are engaged via appropriate contractual arrangements with back to back provisions where appropriate and the necessary insurances are in place

Procurement

Ensure that the country is using the current version of AMEC Purchase Order terms and conditions.

Claims and Disputes

Ensuring compliance with AMEC claims policy and seeking appropriate CRB approval on claims strategy in respect of claims both against the business and by the business. 

Project commercial reporting

Implementing and ensuring the operation of a monthly cost / value (or end of life) reporting for every project in accordance with AMEC policy. 

Overall country commercial reporting

Assist in coordinating the monthly project commercial performance for projects (CVR) and overhead reviews as well as review of the 6 Must Do Actions including updating and issuing the minutes.

Risk Management

Ensure the implementation of AMEC risk management policy in the preparation of Tenders and in the execution of Projects

Bonds and Guarantees

Ensure compliance with AMEC policy regards Bonds and Guarantees.

Status of Joint Ventures

Ensure compliance with AMEC’s policies and procedures with regards to Joint Ventures.
Seek and obtain CRB approval, in principle, for a Joint Venture.
Liaise with Region Commercial Manager to seek approval from Divisional Legal Manager regarding the form and wording of Joint Ventures

Local Insurance arrangements

Investigate, procure and maintain appropriate suit of insurance policies to meet statutory requirements and optimise insurance cover for business risks.
