IELTS Examiners

We are looking for suitably qualified and experienced individuals to join our team of IELTS Examiners. The IELTS Examiner will conduct IELTS examination at British Council Azerbaijan test centre.

Requirements:

• An undergraduate degree or a qualification which can be demonstrated to be equivalent to an undergraduate degree (3 years full time academic study).
• A recognized qualification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) or recognised equivalent as part of a recognised university award course or EFL/ESOL related studies completed as part of an undergraduate /post graduate award course from a recognized institution (minimum certificate level equivalent) or a degree in Education (if supported by an undergraduate degree which includes studies focused on English language)
• At least 3 years full time (or equivalent part time) relevant TESOL teaching experience (minimum one year post certificate level qualification). The majority of this teaching experience must relate to adult students (16 years and over). Full time teaching is classified as a minimum of 14 hours of face to face teaching per weeks. Freelance and volunteer teaching is not included.
• The required professional attributes and interpersonal skills.
• Completes tasks accurately and in sufficient details
• Observes the need for confidentiality and security
• Responds positively to guidance and advice
• Acts professionally at all times
• Communicates effectively with colleagues and candidates and treats other with respect
• Is sensitive to cultural differences

Note: IELTS Examiners are required to work for each session and examine sufficient number of candidates. Therefore we strongly advise you to look at our IELTS dates on our website www.britishcouncil.az and your schedule before you apply.

Note: Once application and interview process is completed there will be 4 days training (usually during the weekdays). Training fee will be covered by examiner and British Council on 50% basis.
