Job Summary:

Tax Advisor is responsible to provide expert tax advice and solutions, ensuring compliance with Azerbaijani tax laws and regulations and optimizing their tax positions.

Responsibilities:

Tax Compliance:

  • Stay up-to-date with Azerbaijani tax laws, regulations, and changes.
  • Assist clients in preparing and filing accurate and timely tax returns.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax obligations according to the Tax code of Azerbaijan Republic.

Tax Planning and Advisory:

  • Conduct tax planning to minimize clients' tax liabilities while remaining compliant with local laws.
  • Provide expert advice on tax-efficient business structures and transactions.
  • Identify opportunities for tax savings and recommend appropriate strategies.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Understand clients' financial goals and objectives, and tailor tax solutions accordingly.
  • Communicate complex tax matters to clients in a clear and understandable manner.

Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct research on tax issues, interpret tax legislation, and provide insights on the implications for clients.
  • Analyze financial data and transactions to assess tax implications.
  • Stay informed about international tax developments that may impact clients with cross-border activities.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Assist clients in responding to tax inquiries, audits, and assessments by tax authorities.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate tax records and documentation for clients.
  • Ensure clients meet all tax-related reporting requirements.

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with colleagues within the consulting firm, including lawyers, accountants, and financial analysts, to deliver comprehensive client solutions.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior tax advisors and interns.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; a Master's degree or professional tax qualification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience as a tax advisor or consultant.
  • In-depth knowledge of Azerbaijani tax laws and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in tax software, in accounting software 1C 8.3.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially excel, word, outlook).

Requirements:

  • Azerbaijani citizenship.
  • Fluency in Azerbaijani, Russian and English languages.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ethical conduct and a high level of integrity.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changes in the business environment.
