Services include project design, design verification and management, structural, piping, mechanical, HVAC, and electrical / instrumentation design, upgrades and modifications, inspection, auditing and engineering support. PD&MS Energy has UK operations in Aberdeen, Dundee, and Great Yarmouth, and international offices in Azerbaijan and Brazil.

Role synopsis

PD&MS Energy have recently been awarded a contract by BP Exploration for the provision of Engineering Services for Platform Drilling. As a result of this we have opened a new office in Baku and will require suitably qualified and experienced citizens of Azerbaijan to fill the following Design Engineer roles:

Design Engineer, Piping/Mechanical (Ref: 017)
Design Engineer, Structural (Ref: 018)
Design Engineer, Electrical/Instrument (Ref: 019)

Key Responsibilities

• Performing offshore surveys
• Having full understanding of and fully adhering to the Company QHS & E policies, as a minimum
• Initial identification and confirmation of overall project work-scope
• Vendor / client interface and liaison
• Coordination of vendors and sub-contractors and dealing with technical queries.
• Performing discipline engineering tasks, including compilation and provision of minor verification calculations, in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
• Performing general project engineering tasks including coordination of other discipline engineering personnel and activities (IDC)
• Interfacing with Company engineering design development / draughting personnel
• Ensuring compliance with applicable industry codes and standards, HSE alerts, statutory instruments, client specifications and legislative requirements and for establishing order of precedence on a project-by-project basis.
• Maintaining or bettering project schedules, and updating same.
• Progress reporting and for developing and demonstrating full project commercial awareness (Change Control).
Preparing cost estimates and RFQ’s on behalf of the Company and variations thereof (Change Control).

Essential qualifications and experience

• Mechanical, electrical or Instrument biased University degree
• Through Understanding of Relevant Oil & Gas Industry codes and standards
• Reasonable understanding of discipline requirements
• Good verbal and written communication skills
