Election Monitoring and Democracy Studies Center
Election Monitoring and Democracy Studies Center (EMDS) is an impartial and largest non-governmental group working on improvement of the election system and protection of the political freedoms in Azerbaijan since 2001.
In the recent fifteen years EMDS has conducted monitoring of all types of elections which have been held in Azerbaijan. Since 2005 EMDS has conducted Statistical Based Observation at the nationwide elections. EMDS believes that holding free and fair elections in the country will be a significant contribution to development of democratic traditions, citizens’ welfare and protection of human rights.
Through assistance of the head office and seven regional offices across the country currently EMDS is focused on: domestic election observation; improvement of election legislation; enhancing political participation; promotion of election rights; building mutual trust in the society in Azerbaijan
