Direct Report to: Finance Director
A group of companies with assets in FMCG and Retail is hiring a chief accountant for one of its group entities. The position is based in Baku and offers a competitive salary.
General
• Manage and develop team of 6 – 10 people
• Assist Finance Director to develop and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
Key Duties
• Create monthly financial reports, including income statement, balance sheet and cash flow
• Oversee daily financial activities
• Prepare and submit statutory reports as required by local legislation
• Review payments and backup for accuracy
• Review journal entries for accuracy and completeness
• Assist in planning and organizing audits
• Compile detailed analyses and reconciliations for annual audit
• Answer auditors’ questions regarding financial statements and company’s financial reporting system
• Provide financial statements and analysis as needed
• Read, interpret and apply relevant accounting principles and practices
• Responsible for daily maintenance of financial software systems
• Responsible for the complete implementation and upgrade of new financial software, training of users, and development of supplemental documentation
Desired Qualifications
• Qualified accountant with 2 or more years of Post Qualification Experience
• Five or more years of relevant experience, of which, at least, 2 years in capacity of chief accountant
• Local tax experience
• Strong 1C, Mikro and Logo accounting software skills
• Working knowledge of IFRS
Languages
• Proficient in Azerbaijani, advanced English language knowledge is an asset
