The DELEGATION OF THE EUROPEAN UNION to Azerbaijan is looking for a Temporary Financial Officer.

We are:

The European Union (EU) is a politico-economic union of 28 member states.

The relations between Azerbaijan and the EU date back to the early 1990's and the support the European Commission extended to the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries (TACIS programme). A Partnership and Cooperation Agreement entered into force in 1999 and, in 2003, the EU engaged further with Azerbaijan through its European Neighbourhood Policy. In May 2009, a further step was taken with the participation of Azerbaijan to the Eastern Partnership.

The EU Delegation to Azerbaijan ensures the representation of the European Union to the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Our priority areas for cooperation for the next years include assistance to Regional and Rural development, support to Justice Sector reform and support to Education and skills development.

We offer

We offer a temporary post of Financial Officer in Finance, Contracts and Audit Section to be responsible for financial and contractual issues related to the EU financed projects, under the supervision of the Head of Section.

The position will likely be available as of 4 January 2016 until 30 May 2016. The selected person will organise and launch call for tenders/ calls for proposals, assist in the evaluation and selection procedures, financial check and other activities upon Terms of Reference enclosed.

The Delegation is an international working environment where European working standards are highly valued. The working language is English. The working hours are from 9:00 until 17:30 and flexitime is offered to give flexible working hours.

We look for

Persons with completed high education.

Azerbaijani native speaker, with good knowledge of Russian and English. Knowledge of any other official EU language is considered an advantage.

5 years' experience in the financial area and knowledge of project cycle management.

Reliable, communicative, resilient, willingness to learn, working under pressure, ability to work in a team.
