RESPONSIBILITIES:

• İnformation gathering, analysis of data, plus writing reports
• Examine data to determine patterns and trends in agricultural economic activity
• Conduct research to collect data and market samples
• Use the predictions obtained from their research to inform, influence, and improve the business decisions of clients and agricultural organizations
• Determine market indicators like farm income and food prices
• Offer a short-term forecast or long-term prediction for some part of the agricultural market
• Understands various sampling techniques that may be used to conduct different types of surveys;
• Creates, as well as uses, various econometric modeling techniques to develop forecasts;
• Analyzes data to test the effectiveness of current policies, products or services and advising on the suitability of alternative courses of action and the allocation of scarce resources;
• Explains research methodology and justifying conclusions drawn from research data;
• Evaluate past and present agricultural economic issues and trends;
• Developing business contacts and helping to win work
• Developing client base and business portfolio
• Preparing and delivering presentations – helping produce material and presenting

REQUIREMENTS:

• University degree in Agriculture, agricultural economics or related subject.
• 2+ years of experience in agricultural economics or related area.
• Excellent report writing skills, backed by thorough, methodical research skills combined with excellent attention.
• Demonstrable interest and understanding in agricultural policy, agricultural economics, rural affairs.
• Computer literate, highly numerate and possess a quick understanding of facts.
• Ability to analyze and reason - both deductively and inductively.
• Ability to marshal evidence and to assimilate, structure and analyze qualitative and quantitative data.
• Ability to draw economic policy inferences and to recognize the potential constraints in their implementation.
• Ability to apply literary and information-processing skills, as well as interpersonal skills.
• Strong quantitative skills including proven ability to use current statistical and econometric techniques.
• Ability to work successfully under tight deadlines.
