Role synopsis
The Project Engineer T&I (Subsea) is a key member of the Transport and Installation PMT which is responsible for delivering the offshore Transport and Installation workscope in accordance with BP’s Q&HSE expectations.
Key accountabilities
General
• Responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective execution of project scopes and communication of project goals and expectations,
• Provide exemplary leadership to contractors and vendors to facilitate successful scope delivery,
• Ensure the installation contractor has a competent organisation and a high standard of resources in-place to successfully execute the work,
• Manage the contractor project execution performance and scope delivery,
• Manage the plan and facilities for in-country mobilization of necessary personnel and equipment
• Maintain awareness and promote conformance to Global Project Organization expectations
• Promote, demonstrate and ensure compliance with all appropriate elements of the GPO, Operating Management System (OMS), including Risk Management, Continuous Improvement and Management of Change,
• Track and manage technical risks
• Engineering for the DBA mooring patterns
• Maintaining close contact with the Engineering Team to ensure timely approval of engineering queries, deviations and approval of contractor documents,
• Support the offshore installation of the subsea facilities
• Support the pre-commissioning and survey scopes for subsea facilities
• Provide direction for the schedule for installation of the subsea facilitities
• Track the execution costs including the assessment of contractor variations, invoices and deliverables
• As a member of the T&I PMT the project engineer will be required to support areas of delivery outside direct responsibility including:
• Building a competent T&I PMT to deliver the complete scope
• Review of installation engineering and procedures outside of the package responsibility
• Supporting other team members to deliver their areas of responsibility Support to general management of the installation contractor, sub-contractors and vendors
Essential Education
Engineering degree or equivalent
Essential experience and job requirements
• A minimum of 5 years subsea engineering and offshore installation experience
• Proven capability of contractor management and execution of offshore construction activities Skill Requirements:
• Exhibits understanding of BP’s MPcp engineering and construction practices and the latest international standards that assure integrity of build and construction quality,
• Proactively demonstrates sophisticated decision-making and leadership skills needed to address complex stakeholder groups and issues associated with Major Projects,
• Ability to intervene in critical situations in order to redirect focus and achieve the required result,
• A high level of proven communication, interpersonal and people management skills,
• Financial and commercial awareness,
• Self-motivated,
• Computer literate,
