TITLE: AAA Project Manager

REPORTS TO: AAA Executive Director

POSITION LOCATION: Baku, Azerbaijan

Working days & hours:  Monday - Friday; 10:00 – 19:00

TERM OF CONTRACT: 3 months probation period with further extension upon performance

START DATE: Immediate

About AAA

The US-Educated Azerbaijani Alumni Association (AAA) was established in October 2003 by a group of US-educated Azerbaijani alumni with the aim of uniting all alumni of Azerbaijan under one umbrella and using their knowledge and skills to help developing Azerbaijan. AAA was officially registered at the Ministry of Justice of Azerbaijan in September 2004 in the status of non-commercial entity.

Key accountabilities:

• Responsible for promotion and marketing campaigns of The US-Educated Azerbaijani Alumni Association in specified projects;
• Ensure the effective planning and implementation of the projects by working closely with the partners including Alumni community, Azerbaijani government entities, U.S. Embassy in Baku, Business companies and educational centers;
• Ensure consistency on contracted standards across the all partnership agreements;
• Secure and maintain partnerships with US Alumni, US Embassy and local NGOs;
• Implement the AAA’s policies and procedures, provide guidance to alumni on community events, and attract alumni volunteers to the organization;
• Network and collaborate with US Alumni, US Embassy and local NGOs, authorities and community organizations;
• Actively seek for funding opportunities from private sector in promotion of annual projects of the AAA, in particular Azerbaijan Business Case Competition and Business Academy;
• Monitor progress of the plans, identify risks, gaps and opportunities for efficiencies and proactively communicate the project status, issues & risks to the Executive Director;
• Complete and track planning deliverables as per the project plan and other established timelines;
• Initiate and develop project proposals and coordinate activities under ongoing projects of the organization such as job fairs, education fairs, training sessions and networking events, particularly regions;
• Prepare press releases, oversee website and social network pages of the AAA and place ads, events and promotion materials online;
• Assist in coordinating AAA’s quarterly publications – Context magazine and Baku Law Journal;
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders;
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications Required:

• Education in business or humanities;
• Age of 20 – 35;
• Experience in the field of non-profit and project management;
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral in Azerbaijani and English languages (Russian is an asset);
• Excellent planning, organizational & administration skills;
• Flexible, resilient and positive through organizational growth and change;
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure;
• Ability to travel to regions and abroad;
• Preference will be given to western educated alumni.
