Responsibilities:

Risk Management Framework:

  • Develop and maintain an effective risk management system tailored to the type, volume, and characteristics of the payment services offered by the organization. 
  • Establish rules and procedures for risk management, encompassing the identification, assessment, mitigation, monitoring, and control of all existing and potential risks, including liquidity, transaction, compliance, credit, and other risks. 

Risk Management Procedures:

  • Define procedures for managing risks associated with the provision of payment services through payment agents, ensuring adequate oversight and control over agent activities. 
  • Establish protocols for monitoring and managing risks associated with the utilization of third-party suppliers' services, including vendor due diligence and risk assessment processes.

Division of Authority and Accountability:

  • Describe the division of authority on risks among the organization's structural divisions, outlining roles, responsibilities, and accountability for risk management activities. 
  • Foster collaboration and information exchange between risk management and other functional areas to ensure a holistic approach to risk identification and mitigation. 

Risk Management Review and Updates:

  • Conduct regular reviews of internal rules and procedures for risk management at least once a year, assessing their effectiveness and making necessary adjustments to address evolving risks and regulatory changes. 
  • Ensure that internal rules for risk management are updated promptly when introducing new payment services, products, technologies, or operational processes, as well as in response to security incidents or operational disruptions affecting service provision. 

Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor's degree in finance, risk management, business administration, or a related field; master's degree or professional certification in risk management preferred. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management, preferably in the financial services industry or payment sector. 
  • Strong knowledge of risk management principles, methodologies, and best practices, as well as regulatory requirements governing risk management in the payment industry. 
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to identify, assess, and prioritize risks effectively and develop practical mitigation strategies. 
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate risk-related information clearly and persuasively. 
  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. 
  • Commitment to upholding high ethical standards, integrity, and professionalism in performing risk management activities.
