Laboratory Assistant for Science department
The “European Azerbaijan School” Educational Complex” LLC (EAS) is looking for experienced, motivated laboratory assistant for its Science department with the possibility of future career growth.
Key Relationships (Internal/External):
Head of School, Head of Science department, IB DP Coordinator, Senior Leadership Team and Teachers.
The main duties are as follows:
1. Setting up/preparation of science experiments and demonstrations at all levels of the secondary;
2. Looking after plants and living organisms in the department;
3. Making up solutions and chemicals in a safe manner and to a correct proportion;
4. Cleaning, washing, dismantling equipment and clearing the lab immediately after the experiment before the next class starts;
5. Maintaining and keeping up to date sufficient supplies of equipment, chemicals, consumables, etc. and to arrange for safe disposal of all out of date or otherwise surplus chemicals and equipment;
6. Coordinating the use of science laboratories, in consultation with the department head, for different senior and junior classes;
7. Assisting the teacher in conducting the experiments and supervising students in particular the larger younger groups where observing health and safety procedures becomes even more vital;
8. Providing support to DP students in carrying out their required experiments for Internal Assessment or Extended Essay.
Requirements are as follows:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry or Physics;
- Confident working with all three science branches;
- Previous experience as a laboratory assistant would be an advantage;
- Good knowledge of English (Cambridge equivalent at least B2, C1 or better);
- Previous experience working in an International Baccalaureate (IB) school would be an advantage;
- Willingness to apply knowledge in a laboratory setting;
- Willingness to carry out practical science skills and work with chemical substances, living things/plants and laboratory experimental equipment;
- Excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively with other team members in the department.

The "European Azerbaijan School" Education Complex" LLC is a private school authorized by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The school is offering international programmes for which it is fully authorized. These include the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) authorized in 2017, Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) implemented in 2015 and the IB Diploma Program (DP) authorized in 2015. We are currently working to be authorized in 2020 with the Middle Years Program (MYP) to become an IB World School. The school is also a member of the Council of International Schools (CIS).
