Conference Researcher
 
Responsibilities:
 
• Strategically putting together a research Business Plan
• Developing and researching new Business segments that appeals to our partners.
• Forecasting and prioritizing leads according to the destination status.
• Maintaining awareness of industry trends and competing cities (i.e. through trade journals, industry participation and travel).
• Overseeing the maintenance of statistical data pertaining to conventions and meetings held and booked.
• Deliver focussed desk based research which identifies potential conference business for Baku allied to the key specialist areas of Baku’s academic and medical communities.
• Maintain and update BCB’s database of conference and client information.
• To assist with the compilation of reports and presentations by providing and interpreting information in an understandable, meaningful and actionable format.
• Actively build strong relationships with Baku’s academic and medical communities.
• To actively participate in allocated project work and different scientific conferences.
• To assist in team administrative and operational processes.
• Any other duties as assigned by the BCB director. 
 
 Experience:
 
• Research experience within a relevant environment
• Experience of using a variety of research resources and tools including online systems
• Experience of using strong analytical skills to draw concise, evidence based conclusions from research conducted
• Experience of working on own initiative in a time pressured environment
• Experience of working with Baku academic and medical communities is preferred 
 
Skills and Abilities:
 
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including networking skills
• Excellent project management skills – self-sufficient in planning ahead, prioritizing and organizing workstreams and working to tight deadlines
• High level of IT competence including experience in internet research, database entry and use
• Understanding of the key specialist areas of Baku’s academic and medical communities
• Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to draw concise, evidence based conclusions from research conducted
• Creative, diplomatic, cool under pressure and able to build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners / stakeholders
• Able to think creatively and analytically and interpret written information in order to convert research into business leads for sales managers, requiring tenacity
• Confident, highly motivated, approachable and articulate
