Mahesh T. Kukreja, founder of K-Group, moved to New York in 1970 with the goal of supplying dry fruits to his family in India. The venture was so successful that he became the leading exporter of almonds from the United States.
Presented with an opportunity to export plastic scrap, Mahesh incorporated K GROUP in 1979 and developed overseas markets for hard-to-sell plastics. In 1989 he launched a commercial real estate holding company, further diversifying his firm’s business interests.
Today, each of K-Group’s divisions focuses on providing clients with custom-tailored, profit-centric solutions to their business challenges. K GROUP has evolved from a one-man plastic trading company to a full-service plastic recycler. Housed in a 300,000-square-foot plant, our seven recycling lines run 20 hours a day, six days a week, processing all types of plastic products.
K-Group’s food division, which operates under the name K Foods, continues to export almonds as well as an expanded product line that includes pistachios, walnuts and figs.
K Realty is a diversified real estate company that owns and manages industrial, multifamily and office properties in the tri-state area. Our team invests in value-add assets where we can increase rents and profitability through thoughtful capital improvements.
K-Group is a family business in the truest sense. Mahesh’s two sons, Vishal and Shiv, and his daughter, Tina, bring their considerable knowledge and expertise to running the company’s three divisions.
